In England, the flu vaccine is offered free to frontline health or social care workers, and those who:
- are 65 and over
- have certain health conditions
- are pregnant
- are in long-stay residential care
-
are the main carer for an older or disabled person
If you qualify for any of the above then you need not have a MAT funded vaccine as you will access one through the NHS schedule.
For those who do not fall into these groups, the Academy is providing access to a flu vaccination voucher scheme.
Headteachers have decided to offer a flu voucher to their staff who might not be eligible via the NHS, as part of their infection control procedures and to help protect those in the school community. Appointments for the jab should be booked outside of the school day.
Vouchers will then be sent to the Hub and are redeemable at local Pharmacies. Locations where vouchers can be redeemed can be checked via this link
