Good to Know

Each school has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads. These are the people that are trained in our schools to a national standard, as the main point of contact for concerns and are expected to be well-equipped, experienced, and knowledgeable in the role.

Jodie Parker (CEO)

Jodie is the CMAT’s Safeguarding Lead, who oversees the Designated Safeguarding Leads and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Leads across each school.

Paul Bowman (MAT Director)

Paul is CMAT’s Safeguarding Director. He is responsible for holding the MAT to account on all safeguarding matters.

I have worked in education my whole career in Walsall, Sandwell, Birmingham & South Staffordshire. My experience has taken me to New York teaching Sport (Gymnastics and Trampoline) and Drama; lecturing in Business Studies, Economics and Accounting at the University of Hong Kong; to Zimbabwe where I worked with local communities to set up, build and run their own schools; and to the West Indies where I have run a number of in service training days for teachers in local schools and helped establish Lynn Jeffers International School.

I worked with Birmingham City Council for over 24 years as an Assistant Headteacher at of one of the City’s secondary schools and latterly for the City’s Education & Infrastructure Team. I retired in 2023 from my role as Operations Director for a Multi-Academy Trust. I have been a Governor of a Birmingham Primary School since 2018. I currently chair their Finance & Resources Committee. I am passionate about Safeguarding children and young people and take this lead within Codsall Multi Academy Trust for the Board of Trustees.
